Sydney Cruelty Free Festival 2014

Last Sunday, the ninth Sydney CFF opened its arms to welcome in beautiful dogs, true animal lovers, food enthusiasts, and the like, to a day of beautiful souls coming together to keep our minds off the scorching heat & sticky humidity.

Sydney-siders had the absolute honour, and pleasure, of being able to enjoy literally ALL the foods, ALL the clothes, ALL the shoes, ALL the skincare/hair care products, ALL the accessories, ALL the drinks, ALL the home/personal/pet care products.... You get the idea.

It was all oddly liberating.

Here is a list of the exhibitors/vendors who I loved/found interesting and were present that day, click here for a full list. It's a a long one!:

  • Oscars Law: campaign against animal factory farms.
  • Cruelty Free Super: made for people who want to ensure that their super is "invested in a way that has regard to a range of ethical and other values, including no exploiting animals".
  • Authentic Turkish Gozleme: they made soft, crispy gozlemes right before you!
  • O!momo: vegan Nepali food! Love their dumplings.
  • Veggie Patch Van: food van that is a "collaboration of Yulli's in Surry Hills, and a design studio TMOD for accessible restuarant quality food with an innovative artistic edge".
  • Peanuts Funny Farm: they aim to bring together abused/neglected children and animals, to help both heal and hope the children are "taught kindness and thoughtfulness" to enhance the quality of the animal and childs life.
  • Vegan Society NSW: a society aiming to help people get starteed, maintain, and educate themselves on veganism (as well as vegan events woo)
  • The Cruelty Free Shop: a one-stop shop for vegan food, and cruelty-free products! One of the first ones that I heard about in Sydey and I looove that they also sell vegan books for children, bags/wallets and personal care!
  • Delicious Skin: big believers in natural, chemical free and vegan skin care- cos our largest organ is our skin! Love their stuff.
  • Addiction Foods: I have been hooked on their Funky Fudge brownie since the Vegan Festival in March 2014... and now I'm hooked on their cacao truffle balls! They have a balance of sweet and bitter from the raw cacao, and had goji nd nut pieces inside for that awesome texture! I need more :'(
  • EcoXpo: an expo for sustainable eco living- they're opening up November 28-30! Can't wait!
  • VeganPerfection: an online grocery store for all things vegan- what I found hilarious was, when I went to visit the About Us link to see what they wrote, there was only a picture of a fancy cat.
  • MAWA: they hope to "advance medical science to improve human health... without using animals or animal products". I read the article given in the show bags- they've done some incredible stuff.
  • Pana Chocolate: yes, I finally tried Pana Chocolate.... and 3 for $15! Bargain (not really, but considering their RRP). Goji & Coconut is delicious, as is Nuts!
  • Sea Shepherd: they aim to use "direct-action tactics to investigate, document and take action" against illegal activities, destruction and slaughter of wildlife to "protect and conserve ecosystems and species". They're also probably the coolest badasses.
  • Just Green: they weren't there this year, but oh my oh my, we might just be there next year for the 10th festival ;) if you haven't been to Just Green, they are another vegan grocer located in Cabramatta. They also sell the best vegan pork rolls, just sayin'.

Would like to thank the organisers for planning the most amazing day. The showbags were great too, and I am keeping my tote 5ever. Hope to see more people and vendors next year :)

Keep being as Fully Conscious as much as you can,
Michelle.
